Portraits of an Actor in New Orleans
David Shiflett did not start out as an actor nor had he ever planned to but that all changed when he retired and rented an apartment in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Upon becoming friends with an actor from Treme he was talked into trying out for some background and bit parts. Now with several films behind him he spends his days chatting over coffee with others such as the famous NY photographer Curtis Knapp when not on a film or television series. Photographing an actor can be super easy but also super hard. Getting real emotions from those trained as chameleons is not quite that easy unless you just totally relate. Below are a couple from his editorial portrait session in the magazine and one with Curtis that wasn't preconceived by Curtis. LMBO!
