Planning a wedding is stressful. There are a plethora of wedding magazines and online wedding blogs that scream at you. "Wear this!" "Buy this dress!" "You must do this!" Whatever you do, if you want to keep your sanity, don't fall victim to trends and the frenzy they whip up.
Check out the 'real weddings.' How many photographs do you see of people, especially other than the bride and groom, looking quirky or dreamy? Most are details. All the stuff you can obsess over and ultimately will drive you crazy. Don't let the material things cloud what's important. Be you! That's what makes wonderful memories.
What should you do? Talk to each other. Decide what is important and what is not so much. Concentrate on that. There are no laws that say you have to buy $4,000 worth of flowers in different shades of pink. If you are reading this you are probably planning a wedding in New Orleans. We are kings and queens of the party. Bring yourselves, your family and best friends and DO New Orleans! That's what they will remember.
