I was honored recently by receiving an email from Judy Herrmann, former President of ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers), respected educator and professional photographer, requesting permission to use some of my photographs and business model to help illustrate her recent seminar at W.P.P.I. 2015 in Las Vegas, a conference that is for Wedding and Portrait Photographers. It was a very well received seminar according to Judy. "I showed a half dozen of your images while talking about the successes you've experienced by pursing a combination of unique vision and great customer service and how important it is for them to find their own voice and not do cookie cutter photography."
Today, in such a saturated market it is reassuring to receive such a compliment from one of the top people in my industry.
A week after her seminar in Las Vegas at WPPI I had the opportunity to meet her in person at a photographer's convention here in New Orleans. Oh my god, we are like two peas in a pod! We talked for what seemed the entire evening. As if we had known each other for years. Joining ASMP was one of the smartest moves I have made in my career. Professional photographers from all disciplines are members, each promoting the advancement of professionalim and good practices in the industry.
Enough about me. Here is a link to Judy's blog. If you are contemplating becoming a professional photographer check out her blog here at 2 Good Things.
